IN THIS HOLIDAY ISSUE: WAKE UP TO GIVING
LIVING THE LIFE YOU LOVE: The Ezine from Wake Up…Live the Life You Love and Steven E

In This Issue...

As the holidays approach, our thoughts turn to others and the special meaning of Christmas. If this slow economy is changing your shopping plans, you may not have much to spend. But you can always give of your time, of your heart and of yourself. And, please remember to give thanks. Happy Holidays!

Share Your Purpose and Your Gifts by Steven E

We all have a purpose in life. You have a unique talent and personality that nobody else has. Think of something you love to do and figure out how to make a living doing it. When your life is in working order, your whole existence is much easier and enjoyable.

If you are currently in a job you don't like, take time to work on the things you enjoy and set a timetable for making a change. Be patient with yourself.

If you don't know what your purpose is, sit quietly and go within; ask for the answer, because all answers are within you.

Think of the things you like to do that brighten your day and make you smile—things you would do without payment; things you would do for enjoyment alone. Finding your purpose in life is recognizing that you can start being "on purpose" in this moment, because being "on purpose" is about unconditionally loving and serving others. Start now by following your interest, even if you know that your career or life situation will have to change.

I am urging you to do it; don't give up on your vision. We only live once, so do what you love. Find your purpose in life and work with a smile. You have a gift to share with the world; don't be selfish. Share your purpose and your gifts. The world deserves it and so do you.

Focus your thoughts and intentions on loving and serving others. Learn to make giving more important than receiving because giving is in alignment with your purpose. No one has to tell you when you are "on purpose." When you find your passion in life and move forward with an unstoppable drive, you no longer question the meaning of life. Everything you do is synchronized with your higher self. You fulfill people and feel fulfilled from your actions.

When we are born into this world, we arrive empty-handed. We can't take any material items with us when we go, either. The message of life is to give. Learn to give unconditionally and live a life that you love.

Business Building Tip: On Your Mark, Get Set, Go

Now is the time for aggressive marketing, whether it's for your business, your products, your services or even yourself. During a slumping economy, what's an entrepreneur to do? While you may be tempted to put your marketing plans on hold, consider one fact: If everyone else is cutting back on marketing and advertising, this is your chance to be more visible. For example, if things are slow for your local newspaper, your press release has a better chance of being picked up. Other inexpensive ways to market your business include:

  • Blogging to attract attention to your Web site.
  • Consider partnering with non-competitive business on advertising and promotional expenses.
  • Use free software through Google or other Web-based programs.
  • To get the most exposure from a limited investment, consider becoming a published author in one of Wake Up… Live the Life You Love bestselling book series. Find out more information on publishing and other marketing strategies by visiting

Thinking about becoming an author?

WAKE UP TELECLASS COVERS PUBLISHING

"Becoming a published author is a powerful tool for any professional," says Wake Up Senior Editor Robert Valentine, "But you have to consider a number of factors before choosing your route to publication."

Valuable help in choosing that "route" will be available next month when Wake Up…Live the Life You Love will present its third teleclass on publishing. Robert Valentine will be joined by Kimberly Tetrev, Director of Private Publications for Wake Up Publishing and print designer Justin Kimbro to guide participants through a four-week intensive study of the publishing industry.

"The goal is to give any aspiring author all the tools he or she needs to make the best decisions about the style of the work, the kinds of editors and publishers with whom to work and the effort and skill needed to market the eventual product," Robert told us. Participants receive a portfolio of self-study materials, background essays, and worksheets to help them create, perfect and market their writing.

If you're interested in learning everything you need to know before embarking on the road to becoming a published author, this may be an excellent way to spend your time before committing both time and money to the most important promotional opportunity of a lifetime.
